Overview

8 Ventures Group is a multifamily investment and operating platform focused on acquiring, repositioning, and managing assets across the Midwest and select growth markets.

​

Our principals are based in Denver and Kansas City, and the firm owns and operates over 1,000 units, including more than 500 units in the Kansas City metro.

 

We take a hands-on approach to asset management, with a focus on operational execution, disciplined underwriting, and long-term ownership.

Our Approach

We operate with a vertically integrated mindset, combining acquisitions, asset management, and property-level execution through a network of aligned operating partners.

This structure allows us to maintain close oversight of performance while leveraging experienced local operators to execute at the asset level.

​

Our team is actively involved in leasing strategy, collections, renovations, and overall property performance, particularly during repositioning and lease-up phases.

Leadership

Chris Fett

Christopher Fett

CEO/Founder

Christopher spearheads asset acquisitions and investor relations and oversees implementation of the company’s short- and long-term strategy and objectives.

 

Christopher has a vast experience in multifamily acquisitions and investment from working as the Chief Acquisitions Officer of a Denver based real estate company for 8 years. He has handled the acquisition, asset management, and disposition of thousands of multi family units across the country. Prior to this, Christopher ran a successful real estate firm where he rehabbed and harvested over 25 real estate projects. He also comes from a media background running marketing campaigns for Dish Network.

​

Christopher grew up in Oslo, Norway, though ended up pursuing his career and life in Colorado. Christopher is a licensed Colorado real estate broker and is an International MBA graduate from the University of Denver with a bachelor's degree in Business and Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Anastasia and two daughters Victoria and Sophia, road biking, tennis, racquetball, and traveling the world. Christopher is determined to visit 100 countries in his lifetime, though he stands at 34 currently, so he has a lot of exploring to do.

Troy Kellenberger

Operations Manager

Troy is responsible for oversight of all new investments, property operations, property performance, heads rehab project management, and ensures value add goals are achieved.

 

Troy is a seasoned professional with a strong background in operations management and real estate. Over the years, he has worked extensively to help businesses grow and scale by streamlining operations and implementing efficient processes. As a result of his efforts, several businesses have been able to achieve significant growth and success.

 

Troy graduated from California State University Fresno, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Recreation Administration.

 

In his spare time Troy spends time running around the mountains of Colorado, traveling, playing golf, and spending time with friends & family

Darryl Orbe

Operations Coordinator

Darryl has built his career over the past 6 years supporting operations, coordination, and administrative management across fast-paced business environments. As Operations Coordinator at Eight Ventures Group, he helps support day-to-day operations, reporting coordination, and organizational workflow across the company’s multifamily real estate initiatives. He enjoys helping keep projects organized, operations running smoothly, and finding efficient solutions behind the scenes.

​

Outside of work, Darryl enjoys staying active through sports including pickleball and basketball, and is also a longtime Star Wars fan.

Mark Zaltzman

Investor Capital Manager

Mark oversees investor capital commitments, conducts financial control and audits of assets’ performance and investor returns.

​

Mark D. Zaltzman has a background in family office administration, including succession planning and investment, credit-related industries, real estate, and housing in Mexico's low-income sector. He has worked with financial intermediaries between capital markets, multilateral/development and commercial banking, as well as retail/corporate borrowers. Mark’s experience includes structured finance debt capital market issuances, strategic joint ventures, and M&A projects, as well as back-office management including IT, treasury, accounting, and risk management.

​

Mr. Zaltzman’s work experience includes being a Partner at TRIA Capital, S.C., where they offer consulting and administrative functions in succession planning, family business administration, tax advisory, accounting and legal compliance, asset protection, and consolidated reporting. He has also worked as the Finance & Administration Director at Industrias BRE, where he was responsible for all financing, planning, and administrative operations within the group and holding entities. Mark have also worked at ING Mexico as the Finance Director, and at Hipotecaria Vértice and Hipotecaria Su Casita, S.A. de C.V. as Chief Financial Officer and Director, Finance & Planning, respectively. Mark D. Zaltzman holds a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University's Robert Emmett McDonough School of Business and a BS in Civil Engineering from Tulane University.

David C. Olcott

David coaches Eight Ventures in long and short term strategic planning and implementation, business building, operational scaling, along with a plethora of other business elements and concepts.

 

David C. Olcott is founder, president and CEO of Samurai Success, Inc., an international executive, organizational and personal coaching firm headquartered in Denver, CO.

​

Throughout his more than 35 years of professional coaching experience, David has worked with numerous individuals, organizations and companies throughout the United States and Hong Kong. His coaching focuses on developing strategies and structures that provide for sustainable growth and productivity

 

Prior to founding Samurai Success, David was a #1 national trainer for Anthony Robbins and was the business manager to the #1 selling real estate agent in the world. David has also enjoyed a distinguished career in the world of public service. He served as the chief of staff for a member of the Florida State Senate and served as the campaign manager and legislative aide to the youngest woman ever elected to the Florida House of Representatives.

 

David is master certified in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and has earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Florida International University. He has trained in the martial arts for more than 15 years and holds a second-degree black belt in Aikido. David is also an accomplished motorcycle racer who has competed against top-level racers throughout Colorado.

 

David has been a guest on several radio shows and is the author of the soon-to-be released book, Swords of Illumination.

 

David is married to Dr. Lorena Lavarne and they have one son, Josh.

Daniel Wacks

Project Manager

Daniel Wacks has more than a decade of executive leadership experience in multifamily real estate, specializing in property management, asset repositioning, financial oversight, and community-focused redevelopment across thousands of apartment units in multiple markets.

​

Daniel began his career in 2011 and went on to serve in executive leadership roles overseeing multifamily operations, acquisitions, refinancing, capital improvements, lease-up strategies, and distressed asset stabilization efforts involving more than 5,000 apartment units. His experience includes leading large-scale renovation and redevelopment projects, including the successful repositioning of Spanish Cove, a 787-unit townhome community in the St. Louis market, as well as redevelopment initiatives involving resident relocation and transitional housing coordination.

​

Throughout his career, he has focused on transforming underperforming multifamily communities into stabilized assets while balancing operational performance, redevelopment execution, and resident-focused solutions.

Alfonso Carrillo

Construction Manager

Alfonso Carrillo brings over 25 years of expertise in construction management, specializing in multifamily residential projects. His extensive experience spans all phases of development, from initial planning and budgeting to project execution and final delivery.

Throughout his career, Alfonso has overseen the construction and renovation of numerous multifamily communities, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. His keen eye for detail and hands-on leadership have led to the successful execution of large-scale value-add renovations and ground-up developments.

Alonso is highly skilled in contractor negotiations, material procurement, and implementing cost-effective construction strategies without compromising quality. His ability to optimize project timelines while maintaining compliance with local building codes and regulations has made him an invaluable asset in the real estate development sector.

Beyond his technical expertise, Alfonso is passionate about fostering strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and on-site teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficiency on every project. His commitment to excellence in construction management continues to drive the success of multifamily housing developments across the industry.

In his free time, Alfonso enjoys riding his Harley motorcycles and expressing his creativity through various forms of art, including painting canvases and building furniture.

Rentovative Co-Founder

General Partner / Operating Partner (Kansas & Missouri)

Andy is a co-founder of Rentovative, a Kansas City-based property management and construction firm focused on multifamily assets.

​

He brings hands-on experience in property operations, renovations, and value-add execution. Through Rentovative, Andy is directly involved in the day-to-day management and repositioning of assets across the Kansas City metro.

​

He partners with 8 Ventures Group as both a property management lead and co-GP on select investments.

Dow is a co-founder of Rentovative and focuses on operational execution and property-level performance.

His experience spans leasing, maintenance coordination, and capital improvement implementation, with a focus on driving occupancy and stabilizing assets.

​

As a co-GP and operating partner on select 8 Ventures Group investments, Dow plays a key role in executing business plans and maintaining on-site performance.

Melanie Ebbs

360 Management Principal

Property Management Expert

Melanie is the principal of 360 Management, a property management firm focused on multifamily operations and performance.

​

8 Ventures Group works closely with Melanie and her team as a primary operating partner across multiple assets. This collaboration allows for consistent execution, alignment on business plans, and strong oversight at the property level.

​

In addition to her work with 8 Ventures Group, Melanie manages a broader portfolio for third-party owners, maintaining an independent platform while partnering closely on shared investments.

Dan Brener

Brener Real Estate Holdings

General Partner

Dan has been working in the Real Estate industry for over 8 years in several capacities. He is a licensed broker in the state of Colorado and has closed over 60 transactions as residential real estate broker with firms such as Keller Williams and Compass.

​

More recently Dan has acquired over 130 multi family units over the last 3 years, with his business partner Christopher Fett. Dan also is a Co-GP on the 360-unit multifamily portfolio The Hampton Meadows and The Ridges in Des Moines, Iowa.

​

Dan specializes in seeking out and acquiring deals with attractive returns. As well as managing the day-to-day operations and the overall asset management of his investments.

​

When not looking for incredible deals for his investors, you can find Dan on the ski slopes and on the soccer field, after graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder and winning a National Championship with the Men’s Soccer Team.
